HOMECENTER SODIMAC
A 60 YEARS OLD COMPANY
Sodimac is a company that operates in retail, an industry where it has achieved a leadership position in the home improvement store market. Its activity is focused on developing and providing solutions to its clients' construction projects, in addition to satisfying the needs of improvement and decoration of their homes.
I worked with them in the kitchen renovation area as a kitchen sales designer, draftsperson and model maker.

STAGE 1: INITIAL DESIGN

The first creative step was my favourite. Kitchen renovation has a lot of creativity involved in the process and it was interesting to help the customers understand some of the key decisions they had to make to get started.
In the showroom, we discussed with them the latest design trends, the options between drawers and doors, the costs of custom joinery versus presets. Once the layout was mainly decided we analysed with them the finishes and colour combinations to personalise the space and create the perfect balance between style and function.
STAGE 2: PRODUCTION
When I first started at Sodimac I learned a life
After this date collecting, we displayed all the information into floor plans and 3d elevations to review it with the clients while presenting an initial quote followed by a strong design brief.
Most of the clients accepted the project after being able to look at their renovation on a 3d image so i find modeling softwares a very good strategy to ensure the sale.
when the measures were checked and confirmed by our reps, all the information captured before was sent to our joinery experts to be manufactured. On some occasions when our warehouse team workload was too big, I helped them by programming the files into the CNC machine to cut the different pieces and create our custom joinery.

STAGE 3: CONTEMPLATE A SUCCESFULL DESIGN

I found it very satisfying to receive the pictures of the finished project, looking stylish and functional. It was a job that made me reflect about the importance of the kitchen in our homes as a sociological way. Humans have used the bonfire as a gathering point since more than 20,000 years ago to cook their food. The kitchen is still a point of reunion for most families where we can feel the same warmth and comforting sensation.
